At the time of releasing our eighth compilation the UK has been in and out of Lockdown due to COVID-19 for over a year. It’s been a tough year. We wanted to release a compilation that would give the listener and feeling of empowerment, inspiration, catharsis or plain joy. We also wanted it to be an album that the listener could sing their lungs out too. I know personally there are few things I enjoy more than singing my throat hoarse to a fantastic punk rock song. This is where the idea for the title Hoarses For Causes comes from.

Hoarses For Causes is supporting an organisation named Music Support musicsupport.org. Music Support is a registered charity founded in April 2016 by people from inside the UK music industry. They provide help and support for those in or employed by the UK music industry affected by mental ill-health and/or addiction. They also facilitate education and learning via workshops and training to individuals and organisations in the industry so they may be better equipped in the areas of awareness, early intervention and prevention. Given the strain and stress that COVID-19 has put on musicians we feel the Music Support are a great charity for us to raise some money for.

Massive thanks to the twenty two bands who have appeared on this compilation. Some are bands who we’ve been fortunate enough to feature on CPRW Records before and some are new to what we’re doing. Hopefully we’ve got a collection of some of your favourites alongside some fantastic new bands for you to enjoy. All the bands on Hoarses For Causes have their own Bandcamp pages and we encourage you to check them out and throw them some money.

As always we are relying on word of mouth to help spread the word for Hoarses For Causes. Every share genuinely helps us a lot! We’re really happy with how it’s turned out and looking forward to supporting Music Support. Hopefully you enjoy the comp as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
